Golf Grip Tips

Hey, John here. Hope you are well. Here are some of my best golf grip tips. I hope you find them useful. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions of comments.

To obtain the proper golf grip, first, hold the top of the club with your right hand. (If you use a left handed golf grip then reverse all of the following instructions.) Allow your left arm to hang naturally alongside the club adjacent to the golf club grip.

Now move your left hand toward the club and place it against the grip. The shaft should run from the fleshy part of your palm downwards on a diagonal path. Approximately a quarter inch from the base of your little finger and through the joint of your middle finger.

For the best golf grip simply close the fingers around the grip.

Your thumb should now be resting a little to the right of centre, on the top of the grip. Keep it here and don't allow it to push further down. This is one of my most important golf instruction tips because if you allow it to move further down the grip, although it may feel more solid it actually works against you as it stops your thumb from supporting the club at the top of your backswing.

Lastly, bring your right hand in and lay the club on your fingers. Rest your little finger in between the first and second fingers of your left hand. Here's a little golf grip tip for you; the palm of your right hand should mirror the angle of the club face.

One of my best golf grip tips concerns the pressure with which you hold the club.

Imagine you are holding a tube of toothpaste without the top on it. Hold the toothpaste tight enough that you won't drop it, but loosely enough that no toothpaste comes out of the tube.

I think this is among of the best golf tips for beginners and more advanced players, as the correct pressure is vital if your swing is going to be loose and fluent. The golf swing action should be similar to that of cracking a whip. You must be relaxed and lose all tension in order to perform the perfect swing technique and the correct golf grip is a major part of achieving that.

I hope these golf grip tips have been useful to you.
