Grooved Golf Swing Series - The First In A Series - Review The Basics And Improve Your Golf Game

What you need and aspire to is a consistent golf game Right?
Wouldn't it be great to go out onto the golf course knowing that you are going to play well? That you are going to play in the way you know you can.
We all have a magic round on the odd occasion. We come in from that round inspired and raring to go out there again and tear up the course.
Unfortunately, this doesn't happen. Is it because we think we have the game worked out and have it mastered?
Is it because we have higher expectations of ourselves?
Or is it because we have such a huge confidence after our great round that we expect to play like that every time?
What ever it is, I believe we have a right to ask the question of the last point.
Why can't we play like this every time?

The next series of articles is going to look at the basics of golf from the grip right through to where ever.
I can hear you say "not another lot of basics and beginnings!". Well....yes...it is. But with a difference.

This is for the golfer who is on a high handicap but wants to shoot in the high eighties or low nineties.
Sound like you? Well if you apply yourself to these golf tips and ideas, you should achieve this very thing.

It is also for the very good golfer who has gone off a bit and doesn't really know why. If this is you, then you know how to go through a check list don't you?

There is a golfer at my club who plays off a handicap of 5. He recently won a club championship. The other day, I was on the practice fairway and there he was having a lesson.
I was very impressed. He was obviously having a problem. Instead of trying to work things out himself and changing something vital to his game, something that should not be changed, he was getting outside advice.
A professional can spot things that we can't as you will well know.

The point is that what I have to say can perhaps act in the same way as outside advice. It will help you to look at your game and hopefully enable you to pick the minor fault.

By looking at the basics one aspect at a time on the practice fairway, you can usually find what you have slipped up on.
One problem of the golfer who has played for many years is that there are so many things that he has forgotten.

Therefore a run through the basics is a very good idea
It is a very good idea for all of us, beginners, high handicappers, and the really good player. Agree? Sure you do.

What I have to say is especially of value to the week end golfer.

This golfer probably only plays once a week and as a result his game is always going off. Mistakes and bad technique creep in and he/she is at a loss to know what to do to get back onto an even keel. It is almost always one of the basics that errs. Therefore A good knowledge of the basics will help greatly in this situation. In fact it is a must.
Some of what I have to say may be a bit elementary for the advanced, very good golfer. But you never know, there may be a nugget of gold that helps these golfers too.
